[0:00] Today we're looking at the cell, the basic unit of life. There are two main groups: prokaryotes, like bacteria, have no defined nucleus…
Key points
What's the difference between a prokaryotic and a eukaryotic cell?
Tap to see the answerA prokaryotic cell has no defined nucleus; a eukaryotic cell does, and the DNA sits inside it.
NoYesHow it works
No rewriting your notes, no copying them out neatly. You record, ROBI builds the material, you practice.
Leave your phone recording in class, or while you listen to a Zoom lecture. Got the handout? Import the PDF.
It transcribes live and organizes everything by topic and depth: summary, key points, concept map, flashcards and quiz.
Practice with cards and questions built from what was actually said in class, and ask the chat about anything that wasn't clear.
The board
Every recording becomes a board with tools to review however works best for you. Try them right here.

A quick view to review, or a deeper one to really understand.
1. What a cell is
The basic unit of life. There are prokaryotes (no nucleus) and eukaryotes (with a nucleus).
2. Parts of the cell
Membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus and mitochondria.
3. For the exam
Be able to tell prokaryotes and eukaryotes apart, with an example of each.
1.1 The unit of life
The cell is the smallest unit that carries out the functions of a living thing: it feeds, interacts with its surroundings and can reproduce.
1.2 Prokaryotes and eukaryotes
Prokaryotes have no defined nucleus. Eukaryotes do: the DNA is inside the nucleus.
1.3 Membrane and cytoplasm
The membrane decides what goes in and out. The cytoplasm holds the mitochondria, which produce the energy.
